Construction of Olympic Sport Complexes in Astara and Jalilabad

Constructing Olympic sport and health complexes in the regions and preparing them for use, is of huge importance – firstly to the socio-economic development of those regions and secondly, to the development of the sports movement in Azerbaijan. Sport, as the basis of people’s health, is a priority of the wise policy lead by President Ilham Aliyev. The decision to construct Olympic Complexes in Astara and Jalilabad to international standards is shining proof of that policy. At present, the INTEKS Company, which is part of the Holding, is working on the construction of the Astara Olympic Complex, on a site of 4.67 hectares. They are setting the erection trusses for the main building, having already started on the building of a swimming pool, boiler house and electricity substation, as well as a water reservoir which will provide the complex with an uninterrupted supply of water. At the same time, they are continuing construction work on the Jalilabad Olympic Complex, which comprises a site of 5 hectares. They have already laid the foundation of the main building. They are assembling the erection trusses in their plant in Baku. According to President Ilham Aliyev, the construction of Olympic Complexes is evidence of the great economic potential of Azerbaijan and proof that the sports infrastructure in the country is ready for events at Olympic level.
